Paraguay in the headlines

On August 1st, 2004, a supermarket in Asunción was burnt down by a fire. Inside there were about 1000 people of which approximately 400 died and 500 were wounded. Survivors and witnesses stated that the supermarket’s doors were intentionally closed to prevent customers from leaving without paying The two trials against the responsible people are reported on this documentary which strongly reveals Paraguay’s social disruption.
